Recent emails have informed me that Mike is currently residing in the maritimes (nova scotia to be exact). There is a warrant for his arrest in Quebec however the police in his local area are unable to " do anything ". Our justice system at it's best eh?

Education: BA/BS (4 years college)
Telephone: All numbers have been registered to Telus, Mike has been rumored to be working at Rogers Mobile

Don't worry, this blog hasn't died down yet. We are still tracking the scum, and receiving emails about attempted scams foiled by this very website. Each day we get closer to catching this POS, I hope any others have filed their reports with the police. Don't think that just because you were scammed online means it won't be dealt with accordingly, fraud and theft is still fraud and theft, no matter the location. Yet somehow he is able to coax people into believing his bullshit stories and we need to put a stop to this.

The scammer was stupid enough to message me AGAIN, asking if I wanted to urgently buy these two laptops his wife and him didn't want. Well I got a new phone number and I called it only to be hung up on as soon as I mentioned the laptops.

So please, if you have any information possible, we have filed a complaint with www.ic3.gov.

Piere from Rob Levine's blog was also apart of this scam as he was victimized in the same way. Apparantley, mr "mogden" picks up his cash in Hamilton, Ontario.

we will contact the local authorities tomorrow and with your help, try to catch this scum.

My stubborn friend came upon an amazing deal for two laptops from which he could obtain for 650 dollars. Now I would have never even inquired but he couldn't resist. So an hour and a few phone calls later, we're at western union sending 300 dollars over. I talked to this POS scum on my damn phone, and to tell you the truth, he seemed alright. A couple text messages later he mentioned the items were on route to my buddy via air canada cargo. I started getting suspicious when he would come up with excuses as to why he couldn't provide tracking numbers. Anyways, his cell phone number is now not in service, his email inboxes are full. His name is supposedly Michael Mogten, but some further snooping on google came up with many variants, like Mike Ogedin, Ogten, Ogden and Mogten.

He apparently lives at 390 Rundlehorn Circle NE, Calgary AB Canada T1Y5T9.

Googled his house, and it shows up but his home phone does not as he said he's with vonage.

Now i know theres probably no way to get the cash back and my friend feels stupid/pissed at the moment, so please no stupid, "HAHAHAHA you got scammed BS". Any advice guys? I know I would have never done what he did, as soon as I heard western union, the alarms went off, but he didn't listen
